MESSAGE OF THE OIC SDS FOR END OF SY 2016-2017

Samuel R. Soliven
OIC, Office of the Schools Division Superintendent

Congratulations  to  all  of  you  dear  graduates/completers  for  your
success in your quest for a better future through basic education. Congratulations also to your school heads, teachers and other school personnel for their dedication and commitment in the noble mission of helping you become functionally literate with 21st century skills.

Well, just a reminder my dear graduates/completers.   Go and embrace tightly your parents or guardians and say “Thank You” and “I love You”.  Say “sorry” also to them for the time that you disappointed them.  You went through a lot of trials, ordeals and difficulties along the way but you did not give up. Indeed, this chapter of your life must be meaningful and memorable.

Now, accept with joyful heart your certificate. It symbolizes the love, hard work and sacrifices you and your family invested for your future. With this certificate are four colorful flowers that represent the 21st century skills in all of your subjects in the K-to-12. Apply them in your day-today life.

  1. learning and innovation skills for creativity, critical thinking and decision making. These are helpful in dealing with the daily challenges and situations of life. When faced with problems, use these skills to make sound decisions.
  2. information, media and literacy skills for access to an abundance of information and rapid changes in technology tools. Use wisely the computers, cell phones, any electronic gadget and devices and even manual technologies to promote productivity and Filipino values.
  3. communication skills for a facility in the languages – mother tongue, Filipino and English to be able to share your message locally and globally. Be fluent in communication to be able to understand your thoughts and feelings.
  4. life and career skillsfor the ability to navigate the complex life and work environments in the locally and globally competitive information age.

We and your parents/guardians are here to embrace you in your happy and sad moments as we nurture these four flowers as 21st century skills until they become fruits in the Senior High School. We will continue to provide you Quality, Accessible, Relevant, and Liberating (QARL) Basic Education. "Sabay-sabay na Hakbang Tungo sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan" is our motto.

Truly at DepEd Nueva Vizcaya, we dream to produce naturally vibrant 21st century-skilled learners who are all 2 stars for our NV community. Yes, we love you all2 -the advanced, the least, the lost and the last! May our dear Lord be with you always. #

HEARTS of LEADERS for ALL^2

(1st DivMancom Meeting)
Feb 13, 2017

There is HE in HEARTS.
There is ART in HEARTS.
HE made a beautiful ART and that is US. Indeed, how great is His ART.

He made us confident leaders with big hearts.
That is why, let us take good care of our health because love in public service requires a healthy heart, a healthy body, a healthy spirit.

We need these to be able to know God, love God and serve God.

As the SY comes to a close, let us revisit how our HEARTS beat for ALL^2 our learners and colleagues, the Advanced, Least, Lost, and Last most especially the LL^2.

By virtue of classroom assessment, there are ACADEMICALLY CHALLENGED LEARNERS....WE STILL HAVE TIME TO DO THE FINAL LEG OF REMEDIATION...May we LOVE them unconditionally.

Considering the individual differences also of our colleagues, may our HEARTS be filled with so much love and understanding for them.

Moon River
It is about friendship. May all strengthen friendship through RBERC.

(Text of the song)

Moon River, wider than a mile
I’m crossing you in style someday
Oh, dream maker, you heart-breaker
Wherever your going I’m going your way

Two drifters off to see the world
There’s such a lot of world to see
We’re after the same rainbow’s end
Waiting ’round the bend my Huckleberry friend
Moon River and me.

We are 9 divisions and 1 deped region2!
We are friends forever!

To God be the glory...

MANGER in MANAGER

Dr. Samuel R Soliven
OIC - Schools Division Superintendent

The Division Management Committee meeting cum Christmas symbols was a huge success.

While the terms manager and leader are different, they are inseparable. Their distinction is important but they make a complete package.

And there is MANGER in MANAGER. This reminds us of simplicity and down-to-earth kind of leadership. The important figures in the MANGER are Mary, Joseph and the newly-born Jesus, the Holy Family plus the 3 kings, the animals and US!....Yes....US, we are part of the MANGER....Christ is at the center of this Advent season as preparation for the coming of Christ. Christ must be at the center of our educational management and leadership.

Thank you to the multi-awarded MLGU of Bagabag under the excellent leadership of Hon. Mayor Johnny Sevillena.for sharing us your time and resources. Thank you to PSDS Marivic Carbajosa Bacud and PSDS Imelda Saquing-Moreno and to entire DEPED Bagabag.

Thank you for the Sta Claus BONNETS. These remind us of the season of generosity. Let us reach out to ALL^2 teachers. Let us extend our hearts to ALL^2 learners....the Advanced, the Least, Last, and Lost (ALL^2).

Our CHRISTMAS DANCE is about our UNITY towards our mission for ALL^2.

Lastly, thank you to the symbols given to me and my family during my birthday. Your prayers will make me stronger in journeying with you in this educational apostolate.

TEACHERS MONTH CELEBRATION MESSAGE

By: Dr. Samuel R Soliven
OIC - Schools Division Superintendent

I INSPIRE, I carry the FLAME...The teachers day/month is a celebration of teachers' huge SUCCESS for their contribution to nation building...Let us revisit teachers SUCCESS. In physical science, if there is flame, its heat is transferred through radiation. If our profession were a flame, teachers around that flame perspire.

Hence, PERSPIRING is a realization of our teaching-learning mission...PERSPIRING is to teach with LOVE ALL^2 learners..the A.dvanced, the Least (dagiti ubbing nga nakurapay), the L.ost(dagiti ubbing nga maiyaw-awan), the L.ast (dagiti ubbing nga kanayun maudi, marigatan)...this is the very essence of differentiated instruction....

Yet, the symbolism of the FLAME is INSPIRATION..but behind this is a lot of PERSPIRATION. There is COOLING effect...seeing the nation transform through the children we transform..this is the INSPIRATION..

Truly, SUCCESS is 99% PERSPIRATION + 1% INSPIRATION by a known author...

A POEM FROM OUR BELOVED OIC-SDS, DR. SAMUEL R. SOLIVEN

SALAMAT sa lahat ng mga guro sa Nueva Vizcaya
Kayo ang mga tala na gumagabay sa mga bata
Nagsisilbing tanglaw at tumutulong tuwina

Happy World Teachers Day!

TEACHERS: LOVERS OF CHILDREN, CATALYST FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

SAMUEL R. SOLIVEN
OIC, OFFICE OF THE SCHOOLS DIVISION SUPERINTENDENT

DEPED NUEVA VIZCAYA

As we give the limelight to all teachers whether basic education, tertiary education, technical-vocation education and other teacher types, I am beaming with joy for the many beautiful stories of teachers. But allow me in a special way to bring at the center of this celebration the basic education teachers…the kindergarten teachers, the Grade 1 to 6 teachers, the Grade 7 to 10 teachers, the mobile teachers and all school and educational leaders. I crafted this simple tribute for them.

CHEERS to TEACHERS
You are all amazing, awesome and great! Cheers! You guys have made a great journey. God is watching you and affirming every good deed you do for the rest of His children most especially the young. Embrace this teaching mission with a grateful and cheerful heart.

TEACHERS with big HEARTS
Your journey with ALL2 learners (Advanced and most especially the Least, the Lost and the Last) have earned you the most loving and most caring to them who are the future of this nation. You continue to deal with these learners by making significant trails to help them realize their dream. You trek the uphill and the downhill of making their lives better. You continue to brave the challenges, joys and fun in this noble mission.

Indeed, God gave you HEARTS capable of loving them ALL2.

TEACHERS as GOD’s GREAT ART
The Lord loves you dearly. Continue deriving strength from Him. You are such a beautiful creation of God. This is embodied in this beautiful song.

Then sings my soul
My Saviour, God, to Thee
How great thou Art
How great thou Art

Every bit of your sweat and every drop of your tear for your profession and for your family we will regard them as Christ-inspired analogy of His birth, passion, death and resurrection.

TEACHERS form a STAR

If constellation is the star pattern in the sky, teachers make one pattern as well in the sky. We keep on looking up to you for your kindness and greatness. Continue to shine, glitter and sparkle. Our children need you. Our nation needs you.

Note that the CHEERS, HEARTS, ART, and STAR are words that are derived from the word TEACHERS. These words make you influential for the improvement of our generation and for the development of this nation. #

"GOD LOVE's ALL TEACHERS"
